The Slush Pile
“Write a short story every week. It’s not possible to write 52 bad short stories in a row.”
– Ray Bradbury
Created in an attempt to rise to Mr. Bradbury’s challenge, The Slush Pile is a short fiction blog that desperately hopes it doesn’t prove him wrong. Updated every Wednesday (as often as possible), the stories run the gamut of speculative fiction and can range in focus from power-armored paladins looking for love at the edge of space, to boys getting high with the monsters in their closets.

Hal lives in North Dakota where he spends most of his free time thoroughly questioning that decision. In what little time he has left he writes fiction, reads comics, plays tabletop RPGs, and runs away from bullies. He lives with his lovely lady-friend and corgi, both of whom hog the bed.
He also contributes to The Comic Jam, a grassroots community of writers and artists dedicated to creating quality comic shorts.
